From my thorough enjoyment of Tales of Symphonia 4 years ago and the enjoyable promise but eventual sidetracking from Tales of the Abyss from 2 years ago, I've been looking forward to Namco's first Tales game for the Xbox 360, Tales of Vesperia.
I'm proud to say that after 60 hours over about two weeks, I've finished the game, and it is an excellent JRPG, and a great addition to the XBox lineup.
Tales of Vesperia is rated T by the ESRB for Alcohol Reference, Fantasy Violence, Mild Blood, Mild Language, Suggestive Themes

I actually started play on Thursday evening, but "weekend" is close enough.
Age of Conan takes the "fantasy" MMO into a new but old direction: Old fashioned sword and sorcery. No elves, halflings, or dwarves here! Robert E. Howard started writing Conan stories in 1932, and posthumously they are his best know works. Plus, most people my age will remember the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie version even if they never touched any of his written works.
AoC also differs in that the combat system is very "real-time" and can be quite demanding. It is also the first MMO to include nipples as standard character features. The below the belt region still has the "standard" non-removable underpants texture seen in other games, but with generally more boot showing in the back.
Age of Conan is rated M for Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Language, Nudity, Sexual Themes by the ESRB. And yes, I can personally attest that it deserves it on all counts but language yet...

I finished playing Persona 2 FES this morning at 2 am. I had stalled out on Persona 3 around 32 hours. Recently, the "enhanced" FES version came out, and I bought it. It includes some additional Personas, side quests from Elizabeth, and some extra "free time" in the game to make it easier to level up your Social Links. While I had to start the story over, some of my progress was carried over from my P3 save game. FES took me 98 hours and 47 minutes to complete.
I won't go into details about the game (see link to my original impressions below), but I will say that this is an excellent game. It did turn out to be a bit over-long, and the combat became a bit too repetitive. But the story and the post-final-boss wrap up was done extremely well.
FES also includes an additional "30+ hour" new game "chapter" that takes place after the events of the main game. Given that "70+" turned into "98+", I'm burnt out on the combat, and I've some other things to get started, the chapter called "The Answer" will have to wait a while.
Original Persona 3 Impressions
Final Words: Must have for any JRPG / Japanese culture fan. This is a complex game, but with a rewarding story. I use one of the songs as my ringtone. 9/10

I was catching up on some season 2 Torchwood last night. Of course, it might have been an attempt to capture the dialect and not the "english", but Apatwa was not the only word in the episode that was really butchered.
From the context, I knew that he was saying abattoir. But the closed captions were consistent with "Apatwa". Another reason that I think this was not just a case of trying to "present" dialog, is that instead of driving lorries, they had "Lotties".
I'd be curious to know if these closed captions were the ones used for the BBC America broadcast, or if HDNet did a new set.

It all started with a simple CPU swap to build a new box for someone's b-day. I already had a free video card, case, and 700w power supply. So free up my CPU after a swap, and install into a new motherboard with new ram.
I did initially consider going all out with a Quad Core Extreme, new motherboard, and DDR3 RAM, but I decided I really did not want to do that much work, and anyway, I saw one of the new 45nm Core 2 CPUs with higher clock speed for much less money. And, according to documentation, it would work in my existing motherboard.
So, with spending a reasonable amount of money, I would get some system improvements, and still have a great system to build. Or so I thought, as I went home Thursday night...
