(You, Me, and Toastmasters, project #9 (8th speech), 5-7 min, Delievered on 2006/07/13, voted Best Speaker for the meeting)
My fellow Toastmasters, let me ask you a question.
Why are we here?
I don't mean in the philosophical or religious sense. Why are we here... in this room... in a Toastmasters meeting.
You, me, and Toastmasters... That is not only the title of my speech today, but exactly what I am going to talk to you about. But I'm going to reverse the order, and tell you first why Toastmasters is here, then why I am here, and then I'll ask you to help me with why you are here.

(7th Speech, Project #6, Vocal Variety, Delivered 2006/02/09)
Playing your cards right. Playing the hand you are dealt. Know when to hold them, know when to fold them. These are statements you have probably heard. They compare Life to a game of poker. Maybe it is more that poker is somewhat like Life. But it isn’t just the cards you hold in your hand that matter. The circumstances matter. Your ability matters.
