For what reason are you most likely to pick up a new Anime series?

Kind of a combination. Mostly storyline, but some animation style and of course recommendation. I've found myself hooked into some of those that you watch while I'm there. Unfortunately, I cannot bring myself to watch Full Metal Alchemist because of the Chimera episode.

I think that episode has disturbed me more than any of the other anime I have seen. However I did make D3j give me an complete plot update after he watched the most recent disk.

In terms of reasons, probably (in order):
Recommendation
Storyline
Director
Writer
Animation Production Company
Music

Visual style can affect whether or not I watch the series even if everything else appeals to me. Especially if the main character has hair in their face while piloting airforce style planes ;). Since I have already been forbidden to watch that particular series if it joins the anime part of our household due to the fact that I can't resist commenting on it I figured I would just dig the hole deeper :D.
